Archaeological site "Vajtos"
The site Vajtos is on the area between Vevcani, Oktisi and Gorna Belica. In the ancient times it was a part of the Lihnidos district and shared its destiny. This site represented a part of her western border and changed too many times as result of many wars. There was a caravan road passing through as an alternative to Via Ignatia that made a great contribution for the development of the settlements.
Many things happened throughout the centuries, leaving evidence that there once been a well developed settlement. On the north side of the location there is a wall from the Hellenistic period 2.20m long made from rock bricks 1.30m long, in ‘’opus opseudoisodomum’’. In the west part the construction is widened and enlarge with plaster during the Roman Empire.
